Install eSIM on Samsung Phone or Tablet

A step by step guide to install an eSIM on your Samsung Phone or Tablet.  If you have a problem with your camera, you can setup the eSIM manually, we have included some instructions at the end of this article.

Before attempting to install the eSIM, there are three main things you will need:

  • A strong internet connection – Ideally, you will need to be connected to Wi-fi or have a good 4G signal.
  • An eSIM compatible device – If you are unsure, a list of compatible devices here
  • The device isn’t locked to one Mobile Network.


1) Install eSIM
DO NOT use a QR code scanning app.

Use camera to scan the QR code. Alternatively, go to "Settings" > “Connections” > “SIM manager”, then tap “Add eSIM” > “Scan QR code”

      


Scan the QR code we provided you, then click “Add” and your eSIM will be installed.
Please do NOT close this, or the installation will stop.
    
    

2) Start using your new "Data Bundle"
 If you don't need to use your eSIM right away, we recommend to keep it off to save battery.

Go to "Settings" > “Connections” > “SIM manager” > “Mobile data" then select “eSIM 1”.  

  

Go to "Settings" > “Connections” > “Mobile networks” and enable “Data roaming".

 
   
It's really easy to rename your eSIM to something more descriptive such as "easySim" or "Travel eSIM".
Notice the 2 signal strengths at the top of your screen if BOTH SIMs are active.
The signal strength shown on the "right" is your "easySim".
The eSIM is now active and your "Data Bundle" will start if you are in the country (or roaming country) you purchased. 


Install eSIM (manual method)
Use camera to scan the QR code. Alternatively, go to "Settings" > “Connections” > “SIM manager”, then tap “Add eSIM” > “Scan QR code”
On screen "Scan QR code from network", Tap "Enter Activation Code".
We have made it easy for you to copy the eSIM values.  Log into your account at my.easysim.global and go to "My eSIMs" and select "Installation Instructions".  Use the "COPY" buttons to copy the values.
With Samsung, the eSIM value needs to be entered as a single string as follows:
Type "1$" followed by the SM-DP+ Address.  Then type "$" followed by the "Activation Code".  Do not use any spaces.
For example: 1$rsp.truphone.com$ZV-2GH3TY-5HFBYL0

  

Now your eSIM is installed, go back to item 2) to use your eSIM.
