Install eSIM on Android Phone or Tablet

A step by step guide to install an eSIM on your Android Phone or Tablet.  If you have a problem with your camera, you can setup the eSIM manually, we have included some instructions at the end of this article.

Before attempting to install the eSIM, there are three main things you will need:

  • A strong internet connection – Ideally, you will need to be connected to Wi-fi or have a good 4G signal.
  • An eSIM compatible device – If you are unsure, a list of compatible devices here
  • The device isn’t locked to one Mobile Network.


1) Install eSIM
If you have a Google 6 Pro, an extra step is required to enable 2 SIMs.  Click here.
If you have a Samsung phone or tablet, please use our guide Install eSIM on Samsung Phone or Tablet
DO NOT use a QR code scanning app.

Use camera to scan the QR code. Alternatively, go to "Settings"“Network and Internet” > “SIMs”, then tap “Add more” > “Download a SIM instead” > and scan the QR code provided.

   

Click “Next” > Scan QR code > Tap “Download”
Please do NOT close this, or the installation will stop.

    

2) Start using your new "Data Bundle"
 If you don't need to use your eSIM right away, we recommend to keep it off to save battery.

Go to "Settings"“Network and Internet” > “SIMs” > “Drei” then tap “Use eSIM” and "Yes" to "Turn on Drei"

   

Notice the two signal strengths at the top of your screen!
The signal strength shown on the "right" is your "easySim".
The eSIM is now active and your "Data Bundle" will start if you are in the country (or roaming country) you purchased. 
Tap "Data preference" to switch between SIMs for mobile data


Install eSIM (manual method)
As above, go to "Settings" > “Network and Internet” > “Mobile network” > “Don't have a SIM card?" then tap “Next" on "Download your SIM".
On screen "Scan QR code from network", Tap "Need help?" then tap "Enter it manually"
We have made it easy for you to copy the eSIM values.  Log into your account at my.easysim.global and go to "My eSIMs" and select "Installation Instructions".  Use the "COPY" buttons to copy the values.
With Android, the eSIM value needs to be entered as a single string as follows:
Type "1$" followed by the SM-DP+ Address.  Then type "$" followed by the "Activation Code".  Do not use any spaces.

    

Now your eSIM is installed, go back to item 2).
