Install eSIM on Android phone or tablet (manual method)

There are situations where it may not be possible to install your eSIM using the QR code, so here is a step by step guide to install an eSIM on your Android phone or tablet using the manual method.

Before attempting to install your eSIM, you will need:

  • A strong internet connection – Ideally, you will need to be on Wi-fi or have good 4G signal.
  • An eSIM compatible device – If you are unsure, see list of compatible devices here
  • The device isn’t locked to one Mobile Network.
In this guide, we assume your main SIM is installed in Slot 1 and your new eSIM is installed in Slot 2.
If you have a Google Pixel, an extra step is required to enable 2 SIMs.  Click here.

PART 1: INSTALL YOUR eSIM
We have made it easy for you to copy the eSIM values.  Log into your account at my.easysim.global and go to "My eSIMs" and select "Installation Instructions".  Use the "COPY" buttons to copy the values.

The eSIM code needs to be entered as a single string as follows:
Type "1$" followed by the SM-DP+ Address.  Then type "$" followed by the "Activation Code".  Do not use any spaces.
For example: 1$rsp.truphone.com$ZV-2GH3TY-5HFBYL0

Tap Network and Internet
Tap SIMs



Tap Add eSIM
Tap Set up an eSIM



Tap Need help?
Tap Enter it manually



Enter eSIM code
Tap Set up



Tap Close
eSIM is installed



Your eSIM is installed.

PART 2: ACTIVATE YOUR DATA BUNDLE
When you are ready to use your eSIM, do the following:

Tap eSIM
Tap Use eSIM



Tap Turn on
Tap Data preference



Tap new eSIM
eSIM now working




You are now using your new easySim data bundle. Awesome job.

TIPS

  • Notice the two signal strengths at the top of your screen!
  • The signal strength shown on the right is the one being used for "Mobile Data".
  • To save battery, turn off your easySim if you're not using it.
  • We suggest you name your eSIM "easy" so you can easily recognise it.  To do this, click the edit pencil in top right corner of screen.
